In these darkening days, in which governments seek ever greater control of our lives and our sacred human rights are under threat, it is worth each of us remembering and absorbing:
I am a free-born child of the universe.
The gift of life is just that, a free gift bestowed upon each of us by the universe. We are made of the stuff of stars, built of elements formed in supernovas.
I am not sure we’ve forgotten this so much as being too busy with the stuff of living to properly grasp it, let alone properly understand it, and I guess, perhaps, many don’t even care or are too burdened to.
Yet, it matters and many of the best things in life are free, love, kindness, care and consideration, gentleness, smiles and laughter, sunsets and waterfalls and all the glories of nature, and not forgetting, beauty and wonder.
We are amazing creatures. Let’s not forget.
